Reeling from a tragedy that robbed her of her entire family, Dani also has to come to terms with her faltering relationship with a disinterested boyfriend. She is encouraged by a mutual friend and classmate to join them on an educational sojourn to a mystical pagan village in Sweden. With little else to hold onto, Dani joins the group in a drug-laden festival that pushes the boundaries of their cultural differences. The celebrations turn bloody and the visitors start disappearing, but Dani's need for love draws her into the familiarity of their folk rituals.
